How to measure your torso
- Tilt your head slightly forward and locate the most prominent vertebra at the base of your neck.
- Place your hands on the top of your hips (iliac crests).
- Draw an imaginary line between your thumbs.
- Measure the distance between the vertebra at the base of your neck and this line: this is your torso length.

Note: Torso length is the most important criterion for choosing the size of a Gregory backpack. Two people of the same height may require different pack sizes depending on their torso length. If your measurement falls between two sizes, generally opt for the larger size for heavy loads and the smaller size for a more precise fit.
